Rose McGowan dazzled on the red carpet last night in a sparkly blue and green sequinned dress as she turned out to the Los Angeles premiere of her new film, Conan The Barbarian, last night.
Her appearance came after she made the astonishing admission in a new interview that she was brought up by drag queens - who she still thanks to this day for showing her 'how to paint her face'.
The 37-year-old actress, who had a rocky childhood, was born in Italy as a member of the Children of God cult.
She moved to the U.S. aged 10, but tells gay magazine Advocate how she ran away aged 13 and was taken in by drag queens.
'At 13, when I was a runaway, I was taken in by the most amazing drag queens in Portland, Ore,' McGowan told the publication.
'We didn’t always know where our next meal was coming from, but there was so much camaraderie and love. Not to mention, those girls could paint a face, and I learned how because of them.'
The Machete actress plays powerful witch Marique in Conan The Barbarian, a remake of the 1982 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
She stars alongside up and coming actor Jason Momoa who stars in the titular role of the swords and sorcery epic.
But Rose, who is a fierce advocate for the gay community, says she would love to get her teeth stuck into a lesbian love scene in a future role.
'I disappoint myself,' she continued. 'I’ve never even kissed a girl. Isn’t that funny? The girls I think are cute look like guys, but then I think, "But if they open their shirt, they’ll have breasts".'
'I’d be stoked to do a lesbian love scene. When asked if I’ve kissed a girl, I could finally say, "Why, yes, I have. And I got paid".'

Hawaiian-born Momoa will be seen in 3D in the remake of Arnie's 1982 effort, which also stars Rachel Nichols as Tamara, Conan's love interest and Ron Pearlman as his father Corin.
Nichols arrived on the carpet looking stunning in a backless dress and high heels.
Momoa has worked hard on beefing up his physique, putting in six hours of training a day to play the part.

Jani Lane, the golden-haired former lead singer of 1980s hair-metal band Warrant, was found dead on Thursday in a hotel room in Woodland Hills, California.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, police found the body of Lane (born John Kennedy Oswald), 47, at a Comfort Inn, with no cause of death available at press time. Lane was best known for the Warrant hit "Cherry Pie," which he wrote and which featured a guitar solo by Poison's C.C. DeVille. The double entendre-filled video for the song — packed, of course, with a bevy of video vixens — was a staple of MTV programming when it was released in 1990.
The singer was born in Akron, Ohio, on February 1, 1964. He began his career as a teenage drummer before moving to Florida and playing in a series of metal bands. Eventually he made the trek to Los Angeles with future Warrant drummer Steven "Sweet" Chamberlin in search of fame and a steady gig.
He was recruited to join Warrant in 1986 and the band released their major-label debut, Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich,in 1989, spawning the hits "Heaven" and "Down Boys." But it was 1990's Cherry Pie that really put them on the map, selling three million copies and making them hair-metal superstars. The title tune was written on the back of a pizza box, which can reportedly be seen on display at the Hard Rock Café in Destin, Florida.
The following years, though, proved tumultuous for Lane, who left the band several times as their fortunes faded and album sales dried up in the wake of the rise of the darker, more aggressive grunge rock sound. He rejoined the band in 2008, only to leave again that same year.
Lane released a solo album, Back Down to One, in 2003. He dabbled in acting, appeared on VH1's "Celebrity Fit Club" in 2005 and toured with Great White in 2010 as a fill-in lead vocalist.
Though a cause of death was not known at press time, Lane struggled with alcohol over the years, pleading no contest to misdemeanor DUI in 2009 after an arrest for reportedly crashing into a parked car. A similar incident sent him to jail for 120 days in 2010.
A number of Lane's musical cohorts tweeted their condolences overnight, including Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx, who wrote, "I just heard the sad news about Janie Lane. So hard to swallow when people have kids. RIP."
Another friend, Poison singer Bret Michaels, said, "We'd like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Jani Lane regarding their loss. Respectfully, Bret and all at MEGI." Tommy Lee, former Guns N' Roses member Steven Adler, Ratt singer Stephen Pearcy and wrestler/rocker Chris Jericho.

Butler will play rogue former agent Steve Vail who has been brought in to eliminate a criminal group that demands enormously high ransom payments for their kidnapped victims.
The film is Mark Gill’s first project since taking the role of president at Millennium Films.
“Enigma” screenwriter Hanna Weg is writing the screenplay.
Butler’s character will work alongside a female FBI agent, but no actress has yet been chosen.

The 19-year-old star of the MTV reality series "Teen Mom 2" was arrested Monday for violating her probation after she tested positive for marijuana and opiate use during a meeting with her parole officer in her hometown Oak Branch, N.C.
According to her attorney Dustin Sullivan, Evans also violated her probation by associating with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Kieffer Delp, "a known drug user," on July 16 and Aug. 6.
"She's facing a 45-day active sentence," Sullivan told ABCNews.com. "The judge could put her in jail for 45 days. Up to this point, I've had 12 or 13 charges dismissed. I've never had to have that conversation with her until now."
Sullivan said he has yet to speak to his client since she was placed behind bars on $10,000 bond Monday. He said she was released that night.
Back in April, the teen mom was sentenced to 12 months probation after she pled guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia.
Evans is due in court August 24.
The reality diva has been on a collision course for some time.
In March, she was charged with simple assault after a video surfaced of her punching a young woman. The woman, Brittany Truett, told ABC News that Evans attacked her in a fit of jealousy because Delp was flirting with Truett.
Sullivan told ABC News in March that his client might be the victim of a set up.
"There are some indicators that Jenelle was set up from the beginning," he said then.
Evans is due in court on the fight case Sept. 9.
"Everything is kind of stacking up right now," he told ABCNews.com Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Delp, 20, has his own troubles. He was arrested the same day as the fight for cocaine possession.
Later, on June 16, Delp was arrested for assault after allegedly punching one of Evan's former friends and her male companion outside an Oak Branch convenience store. TMZ said the young man Delp punched was "bleeding heavily" when police arrived.
Delp is due in court August 31.

It’s true that Hudson has put her weight in the spotlight. She’s a spokeswoman for Weight Watchers, and has given interviews about herdiet and exercise plans. This has led to speculation that the former “American Idol” contesant is too skinny. But, at the end of the day, who cares what size Hudson is?

The actress took the death of her former co-star, Patrick Swayze, hard back in 2009. It was partly in his honor that she took on the challenge with ABC's hit show, Dancing with the Stars,which she went on to win. She knew Patrick would be proud of her accomplishment.
Jennifer Grey understands why some fans are upset over the decision to do a remake of 'Dirty Dancing.' But she is confident that Kenny Ortega will do something unique. I'm "blown away by all the love expressed for 'Dirty Dancing.'" It "makes me want to see it again." I'm "so grateful to have been a part of it," she Tweeted.

Whether or not that will be enough to placate fans, who want perfection left alone, is unknown. It may depend on the story change, who's involved who in the project and the type of music used.
Too much change, especially in Jennifer Grey's character Baby, will most certainly alienate the film's loyal fan base. In fact choice of the wrong stars could spell its doom. The worst possible thing, however, might be a drastic music genre change to something like hip hop or rap. Unfortunately, none of those decisions clear at the moment, which is why fans remain skeptical at best.
A national poll shows that 83 percent think the remake idea is "just wrong", leaving only 17 percent that support it. That could spell trouble at the box office.

Monday morning on NBC's Today Show, the divorced mother of eight said she's "definitely ready to start dating."
"I think there's a lot of obstacles for me," the 36-year-old admitted. "But in all honesty, I've talked to my best friend and said wouldn't it be great if she could go around the country and collect suitable people because the odds of me sort of bumping into someone are rare."
Why does the Kate Plus Eight star, who divorced Jon Gosselin in 2009, think it's "rare" that she'll happen upon her perfect man in her day-to-day life? "I have eight kids," she said. "I have a crazy work schedule. I'm known... I am ready to start dating, but it's sort of daunting."
Gosselin said her children -- 10-year-old twins Cara and Mady, and 7-year-old septuplets Alexis, Hannah,Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel -- are hopeful for a step-father. "Chariot" singer Gavin DeGraw is recovering at a New York City hospital after being attacked by a group of men early Monday, according to reports.
Police say DeGraw, 34, suffered a broken nose and cuts on his face after a brawl with a group of "unknown male attackers" at around 4:30 a.m. Monday in the East Village neighborhood. Sources tell the New York Daily News that he then stumbled off and was hit by a cab 13 blocks away. He was not seriously injured in that collision.
A statement by his spokesman says the singer was "assaulted" and taken to Bellevue Hospital by ambulance and remains under observation. "We have no additional information at this time," the statement reads.
An official at Bellevue said they are not able to release patient information.
Sources say that DeGraw only reported the beating after police were called to the hospital. An investigation is underway though no arrests have been made.
The attack happened five blocks away from the National Underground, a bar and live venue DeGraw owns in partnership with his brother, Joey.
"We want it to be like a neighborhood joint and a little musical joint where local acts can come through and feel comfortable," DeGraw told Billboard.com in a recent interview. "We're just doing what we like. We opened up the little barroom thing in (New York) because we like music."
We can not confirm if DeGraw had been at his bar right before the attack and a call to the venue, located at Houston close to First Ave., could not be completetd because its phone mailbox was full.
DeGraw is currently on tour with Maroon 5 and will miss a planned concert Tuesday in Saratoga Springs, NY. His fifth album, "Sweeter," hits stores Sept. 20.

Earlier, Trisha was rumoured to play the lead actress in the movie, making it her debut vehicle in the Malayalam cinema, but had to back out due to scheduling conflicts. Deepan confirms that Shriya will now play the role. This will be Shriya's third Malayalam movie after the Mammootty-Prithviraj hit Pokkirri Raja and Mohanlal's Casanova. Herowill also star Srikanth in an important role.

That's just one tidbit Kate Gosselin shared during her interview with TODAY's Ann Curry on Monday. Gosselin's show, "Kate Plus 8" returns Monday night on TLC, and that means both fans -- and critics -- are wondering: Just how is America's most notorious single mom dealing with both her brood and trying to find a new man?
"I'm definitely ready to start dating," said Gosselin, who added she'd like to get some of her best friends to round up any eligible men. "There are a lot of obstacles for me. The odds of me bumping into someone are rare."
Those obstacles, of course, aren't just about having eight kids -- but about carrying on so much of her life in front of television cameras. That's something that doesn't readily fit on a Match.com dating profile, and she said as much to Curry.
"I have eight kids, I have a crazy work schedule, I'm known," said Gosselin. "It's sort of daunting when I think about the obstacles. I'm hoping that person is out there, because the kids on a daily basis are just begging me to get married again. They bring it up all the time."
Raising her kids solo (she and Jon Gosselin divorced in 2009) has been a real challenge, she added. "I'm not going to lie, it's really settling in now two years later being a single mom of eight kids. It's difficult. I've had a lot of difficult moments and stressful moments, and you're going to see it (on the show), the good, the bad and the ugly."
She also addressed rumors that her show was winding down, and would likely be canceled: "Nobody has told me. We will do it as long as people are watching."

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced a three-day long celebrations to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Tagore, starting ironically on Aug 8 which is his 70th death anniversary. The day has also been declared as a holiday in the state.
The 82-year-old Lata lent her voice to `Tomar holo shuru`, a famous Rabindra Sangeet which she had sung along side famous composer and singer Hemanta Mukhopadhyay.
The evening saw the Mangeshkar siblings Lata, Asha, Usha, Hridaynath and Meena all sharing the dais as a group. The musical evening also saw National Award winning director Rituparno Ghosh reciting creations of the bard along with several famed singers rendering Rabindra Sangeet.
"Tagore`s 150th birth anniversary has not been suitably celebrated so far. So we have decided to hold programmes around his death anniversary," Banerjee had earlier said, announcing the celebration.
Cultural programmes would be held in all schools, colleges, other educational institutions, government offices, state public sector undertakings and city police headquarters with the main programme organised at Netaji Indoor Stadium.
All government buildings, railways offices and stations across the state are to be lit up on the occasion.
Four huge and colourful rallies will be brought out from the Jorasanko Thakurbari - the poet`s ancestral house where he was born - Park Circus, College Square and Harish Mukherjee Road at 10 a.m. Monday.
All four rallies will terminate at Shahid Minar in the heart of the city.
Banerjee would join the rally from Harish Mukherjee Road.
She said the state government was also renovating a house in Mongpu village in Darjeeling district which hosted Tagore on several occasions.
"We have plans to set up a Nepali Academy there."
The state government has organised a cultural festival at Netaji Indoor Stadium here where leading singers and elocutionists will take part.

The FBI has arrested and charged a New York City woman with stalking French movie star Marion Cotillard, officials said.
The FBI charged Teresa Yuan, of Queens, with interstate stalking, NBC New York reported.
In its criminal case, the FBI said Yuan, believed to be in her 30s, started sending Cotillard's Web site a series of increasingly threatening messages and e-mails in April.
Yuan was arrested Thursday and released on a $50,000 bond Friday.
Cotillard, 35, and her family had "become concerned for their physical safety," the FBI said in its complaint, filed in a Brooklyn federal court.
"The guilt and sorrow I feel now, I won't feel after it happens," Yuan said in a threatening video sent to a Cotillard fan site July 23. "After it happens I'll feel no regrets whatsoever … that's apparently how it feels to be a killer, to be a murderer."
Yuan's attorney, Michael Schneider, declined to comment on the case, the New York Daily News reported.
Yuan reportedly hissed and growled in one of the videos sent to Cotillard's Web site.

L.A. will mark the 100th birthday of Lucille Ball on Saturday with a Lucy look-alike contest in Hollywood.
This year also marks the 60th anniversary of her "I Love Lucy" television show. Ball died in 1987.
The Hollywood Museum has a new exhibit celebrating both Ball and her show that opened Thursday. The museum has scheduled the look-alike contest as well as a birthday cake celebration.
There has also been a screening of some of Ball's movies at the Egyptian Theater this week.
